No 556.
}
Sir,
RECEIVED
13A28
GOVERNMENT HOUSE,
HONG KONG,
1 DEC 1953
6th November, 1933.
Encl. No.1.
1. In 18858/13
on
Encl. No.2.
1.
With reference to my despatch No.192 of the
29th March, 1933, I have the honour to enclose for your information the accompanying copy of six resolutions adopted by the Legislative Council at a meeting held on
the 12th October, 1933.
2.
In each case your permission had previously
been obtained to carry out the work in question and to
charge the cost to Loan Funds.
3.
With reference to resolution No.5, I would
invite attention to Appendix V(B) of the draft Estimates for 1934 forwarded to you in my despatch No.504 of the
4th October, 1933, where the revised estimated cost of
the Tytam Tuk Catchwaters is given as $800,000.00 and not as $690,000.00, the figure quoted in the enclosure to my
despatch of 29th March. The reason for the increase is that the original estimate did not include executive and
administration charges. These charges which are
estimated at $110,000.00 are now included in the revised
estimate for the whole work, for which I should be glad to
receive your covering approval.
4.
A copy of the Hansard report of the proceedings
is also enclosed.
I have the honour to be, Sir,
Your most obedient, humble servant,
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE
SIR P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER, G.B.E., M.C., M.P.,
&C.,
&C.
&C.,
Governor, &c.
